IT’S A DOGS LIFE- WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR LEO?

Above all: COMPANIONSHIP

Then anything else you can think of.  Agility, Therapy or Service dog Training, Swimming/water rescue, Cart Pulling, Sheep Herding and Show Ring  to mention but a few. You will also be amazed to find that you can do spinning and weaving of their hair to make clothing as well as developing new or continuous cleaning skills .  Leo’s are like children in that when they are young they require an adult presence to make sure they don’t  temporarily destroy your home.  They can be expensive to maintain because unlike children they don’t have medical or dental insurance.  And of course you know, the bigger it is the more it costs to maintain.  Leonbergers are adaptable!  As long as they are with you they will be happy.  I suggest though that if you do not have an active lifestyle and include your dog in that lifestyle, that you yourself are not happy.  A leonberger would make you very aware of this.  They require off leash play and an exercise time to develop properly and to maintain a happy easygoing temperament.  Have a look below to see what our Leos have done for us.  Whether it’s daily trekking through the  Pacific Spirit Park or Reading  Therapy work at the Library,  they change our lives for the better just by being there.
